To me this image is representative of when two or more of the identities we hold conflict with each other. An example of this could be identifying as someone who is independent but also values deep and meaningful relationships. These can both be positive things, but situations may arise when a relationship gets in the way of your independence and vice versa. When we are in conflict with different versions of ourselves it can be stressful, confusing, and scary.
