Sydney Darrow

Sydney Darrow (25) is a Rhode Island based artist specializing in Magical Realism. A current member of the 2024 WaterFire Accelerate Program, Sydney is a prolific artist who has shown in a multitude of galleries and festivals across New England, receiving multiple awards for her original works. In 2022 she was commissioned by The Rhode Island Foundation to create a portrait painting that celebrated the inaugural graduation of the Equity Leadership Initiative Fellows. Working with a variety of mediums including oil paint, charcoal, and ink, Sydney explores themes around femininity, relationships, and duality in a way that invites the viewer to reflect, analyze, and explore what it means to be human.
